Basket Waeving Workshop
Maison Saint-Gabriel, historic site and museum
This summer, Maison Saint‑Gabriel invites you to explore the work of artisans in depth!
Join basketry artist Nathalie Levasseur for a weaving workshop, where you’ll learn simple techniques for weaving willow wicker. Discover more about the ancestral practice of basketry in the enchanting setting of our gardens.
In a small group, you will learn how to identify and prepare plant materials and create your own hand‑woven fan for the warm summer days ahead. The willow used in the workshop is cultivated using knowledge rooted in harmony with the land, in the salicetum of Racine du Monde in Val-David, in the Laurentians.
A unique way to recharge while reconnecting with nature, art, and history.
