Welcome to the Website of the Montreal Museum Directors Board. Our site is a cultural tool for informing and serving the public, players and partners in Montreal’s museum network. It is a rallying point for museums and a springboard for their visitors, featuring hundreds of invitations to explore thirty institutions dotted around the city.

Our museums are an integral part of the urban landscape — their accessibility makes them key players in Montreal’s cultural life. In all, they welcome 4.5 million visitors a year. They preserve and showcase a heritage of over 4 million items related to art, history, architecture, archaeology, science and nature. They are witnesses to the past and heralds of the future, attuned to the rhythm of their city as they invite visitors to make countless discoveries, thanks to exhibitions, special activities, lectures, historical sketches, workshops, open houses, concerts and much more.

They are an important part of the growing efforts to make culture a part of everyone’s life, guaranteeing a warm welcome and heritage experiences that bring Montrealers and other visitors together with their communities and their history. Montreal’s museums are guardians of our collective memory and the memory of humanity.
