Take our guided tour to find out more about its features, construction materials and technological innovations, which combine to create a healthy living environment. Discover ways to green your own home, and learn about simple, economical, accessible solutions to improve the quality of your environment.
The solar house was designed by students from McGill University, the Université de Montréal and the École de technologie supérieure for an international competition, the 2007 Solar Decathlon, in Washington, D.C.
This exhibition provides concrete examples of the principles of sustainable development with depictions of contemporary innovations that follow in the footsteps of the creator of the Biosphère, Richard Buckminster Fuller (1895–1983), and of the philosophy behind his inventions.
