Museums: united and connected
As a major cultural metropolis in Québec and Canada, Montréal is home to more than 34 museums. They are grouped under the Board of Montréal Museum Directors, and their mission is to introduce as many people as possible to science, history, the fine arts and our cultural heritage—in essence, everything related to culture and identity, both our own and others’. While the specifics vary by museum, these institutions share a common desire to open the wealth of their collections and exhibits to the largest possible audience. With this in mind, the museums are taking part in a number of joint projects.
