Alexandre David. D'une place à l'autre

For the start of the 2024 cultural season, the Galerie de l'Université de Montréal, the Galerie des arts visuels de l'Université Laval and Criterium are simultaneously presenting a major retrospective exhibition of Alexandre David's work.

Presented in the cities where the artist lives (Montreal) and teaches (Quebec City), the exhibition includes new installations, conceived with each location in mind. Each installation in the tripartite project thus reveals a distinct angle of approach. During the summer of 2024, Alexandre David will hold creative residencies at the Galerie des arts visuels de l'Université Laval and the Galerie de l'Université de Montréal.

Drawing on the abundant documentation produced by the artist for his projects (sketches, plans, photos), earlier works will also be presented in the three exhibition sections, covering more than thirty years of his career.
