Message from the Executive Director

It is with pleasure that I welcome you to our site on behalf of the Board of Montréal Museum Directors. The BMMD currently represents 38 museums and is the driving force behind such initiatives as such as the Montréal Museums Day, the Montréal Museums iPhone app, the Montréal Museums Pass and the Montréal Museums Magazine.

This year, the BMMD celebrates its 25th anniversary. It was 1987 when the Board was created to respond to Montreal museums' strong desire to collaborate in their intent to introduce the greatest possible number of people to the richness and wide-ranging mandates of Montreal museums.

Be it through mobilisation projects, professional gatherings or diverse marketing strategies targeted at its wide-ranging clientele, the BMMD's strength is its calling to share the wealth of knowledge found within our city's museums with one and all.

In April 2011, the BMMD earned itself the Prize for Excellence in Marketing for its meritorious initiative “Montreal City of Glass, a Tale of Innovation” by the Canadian Museums Association.
